We will be offering youth programming during school vacations to students in grades 1 through 8. Whether you want to learn how to cook, try out a new career, participate in recreational sports or become engaged in academic enrichment, we have a solution for you! Minuteman Community Education runs two "Staycation" programs during school vacation weeks in February (February 18 - 21, 2014) and in April (April 22 - 25, 2014).

Aspiring Chefs: See what's cooking!
Put on an apron and pull up your sleeves! You'll be cooking in a professional kitchen and making lots of goodies. Of course, you'll get to sample your cooking and bring some home for your family!

Beginner Baking: It's a piece of cake!
This hands-on baking class teaches you everything, from proper recipe reading and measuring cup use to decorating a cake with basic designs. Go home with mouth watering bakery treats such as cinnamon rolls, brownies, cookies, muffins, cakes, quick breads and much more!

DIY Smart RC Cars
Inspired by the self-driving Google Car, make a driverless Super-RC car that is controlled using a powerful thumb sized Arduino computer chip. This car can work as an RC car, a computer controlled car or a smartphone controlled car. Learn about computer cars, electronics and have fun racing your driver-less cars with friends. Take home your Smart RC Car, Arduino program module, software and share with friends and family. No programming experience required!

iPhone Game Programmer
Enjoy playing Candy Crush style iPhone games? Learn to explore design and development process. Create your own images and add sounds. Test your game on iPhone or iPAD. Demo your game to friends and family on Friday. No iPhone device or programming experience required.

Science Gadgets & Contraptions
Explore energy, light, and electricity as we make things that glow, refract and electrify! See around corners with your own periscope! Create glow in the dark slime and examine the mysterious properties of magnets. Keep time with your own sand clock, and construct a balloon mobile to race against your friends.

All students will meet in the cafeteria on Tuesday before morning and afternoon classes.
Students who are here for the full day must bring their own lunches.
Parents must complete an Emergency Release Form for each student participating in the programs.
Refund Policy: A $10 processing fee will be charged for all refunds. Full refunds, minus the $10 processing fee, will be issued when a student withdraws from a course no later than the Monday prior to the start of the class. A 75% refund, minus the $10 processing fee, will be issued to students withdrawing later than the Monday prior to the start of the class and prior to the second class. No refunds will be issued after the second class or after a one-night class has already taken place, unless there are extenuating circumstances.
